The fire incident that occurred recently in the Ata District of Aydın’s Efeler district grew rapidly and spread to the surrounding areas. A major intervention was required after the fire spread to a workplace’s warehouse.
The fire, which started in a grassy area, spread rapidly under the influence of the wind and reached a warehouse in Aydın Astim Organized Industrial Zone. Upon notice, Aydın Forest Management Directorate, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality fire brigades, AFAD and UMKE teams were dispatched to the region. Helicopters and TOMAs also supported the extinguishing efforts.
In the early hours of the morning, the walls of the warehouse were demolished with work machines, the flames were intervened more effectively and the fire was taken under control. However, 2 firefighters were affected by smoke during the fire and were taken to hospital. It was stated that the condition of the personnel was good.
While the teams continued their cooling efforts in the warehouse after the fire, serious damage occurred to the materials in the warehouse. The cause of the fire is not yet clear.
