2024-2025 Academic Year Calendar
While millions of students are enjoying their summer vacation, there has been curiosity about when schools will open. The new academic year will begin on September 9, 2024. Minister of National Education (MEB) Yusuf Tekin announced that the summer vacation period will continue as planned this year, but that the summer vacation will be shortened by 20 days starting next year.
On the other hand, changes regarding lesson hours are also on the agenda of the Ministry of National Education. Tekin stated that lesson hours will be shortened due to intense complaints from teachers. This regulation is expected to be implemented as of the 2024-2025 academic year.
When Will Schools Open?
The new academic year will begin on Monday, September 9, 2024 and end on Friday, January 17, 2025. The second term will begin on Monday, February 3, 2025 and end on Friday, June 20, 2025.
- Orientation training for students who will start pre-school education and first grade of primary school will be held between September 2-6, 2024.
This year’s education process is aimed to be made more effective in order to support the academic development of students. Educational institutions plan to make the necessary arrangements by taking into account the feedback from teachers and parents.
