The incident occurred around 19:00
The incident took place at around 19:00 in the village of Asmalıırmak in the district. Altay B. and Cihat F., who went to the stream to have a picnic to cool off, noticed that the flow of the stream suddenly increased due to the heavy rainfall in the higher elevations. Due to the flood, the two friends were swept away by the water and stuck on a rock.
Rescue Operation Successfully Conducted
The desperate young people immediately reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. AFAD, gendarmerie and health teams quickly arrived at the scene. The teams tried to reach the trapped young people using a concrete mixer pump. Finally, as a result of the rescue operation carried out by AFAD personnel and the pump hose, Altay B. and Cihat F. were rescued safely. It was stated that their health conditions were good.
