The Presidency of National Palaces announced that Yıldız Palace, which was built during the reign of Sultan Selim III and expanded by Sultan Abdulhamid II to become a state palace, opened its doors to the public after a 6-year restoration. It was stated that many structures were opened to visitors at the opening ceremony held on July 19 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to the statement, it was stated that the palace, which opened its doors to the public as of July 20, was visited by 39,385 people in one week. It was emphasized that many structures and areas such as the “Great Mabeyn Pavilion”, “Çit Pavilion”, “Small Mabeyn Pavilion” and “Private Garden” could be seen for the first time in the palace, which was opened to visitors after long -term restoration, conservation and landscaping works.

The palace, where the works belonging to Sultan Abdulhamid II are exhibited in a “museum” concept, draws attention especially with its library. It is stated that the library attracts great interest from both local and foreign tourists. The areas where the works reflecting the historical and cultural texture of the palace are exhibited are greatly appreciated by visitors.

Yıldız Palace is located on Yıldız Hill in Beşiktaş and took its original form during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II. The fact that the palace can be visited free of charge until September 1st has also increased the number of visitors. The palace, which opened to visitors after approximately a century, hosted an average of 6 thousand people every day.

The “Great Mabeyn Pavilion”, one of the most visited parts of the palace, and the Sultan II. Abdulhamid Museum located in the Çit Pavilion attracts great attention among visitors. In addition, the “Armory” section, where the palace garden and library are located, is also enjoyed by visitors.

Yıldız Palace is the last palace of the Ottoman Empire and has deep historical traces. Open to visitors every day except Mondays, the palace has become an important destination for history and art enthusiasts.
