White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a written statement that the Lebanese Hezbollah was responsible for the rocket attack in Majdal Shams. Watson said, “This attack was carried out by Lebanese Hezbollah. They fired the rockets and sent them from the area they control. We must condemn this attack.”
Watson stressed that they were in close contact with Israeli and Lebanese authorities and that the US would continue to support Israel. He also stated that they were working towards a diplomatic solution.
Magdala Shams Attack
A rocket attack on a football field in the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed 11 people and wounded 24. Following the attack, the Israeli army spokesman announced that the attack was carried out by Lebanese Hezbollah, but Hezbollah denied the claim
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also made a statement regarding the attack, saying, “If Hezbollah carried out this attack, they will pay a heavy price.”
