The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) stated that it had to cut off the water delivered to Bodrum due to the Mumcular Dam, one of the important sources of drinking water for the Bodrum Peninsula, falling to the dead volume level.

With the closure of Mumcular Dam, arrangements are being made at Mumcular Drinking Water Treatment Plant to receive water from Geyik Dam. Due to these arrangements, the following neighborhoods will experience water outages:

  • Carsi, Turkkuyusu, Yenikoy, Eskicesme, Gumbet, Cumhuriyet, Tepecik:16 hours of water outage

It was stated that following the work carried out, water will be taken from Geyik Dam to Mumcular Drinking Water Treatment Plant and water will be supplied to the specified regions.

It was also emphasized that using water was more economically of vital importance during this period when Mumcular Dam was closed. The following statements were included in the statement:

“As MUSKI General Directorate, we continue our efforts to solve Bodrum’s water problem by integrating both underground and surface water resources into the system and with additional projects. “We aim to eliminate the water shortage of the Peninsula and ensure that our citizens can breathe easy by implementing our new projects as soon as possible.”
