In the tragic incident that took place in Antalya’s Döşemealtı district, a person killed his ex-wife by stabbing her in the throat in the middle of the street. The murder suspect, who did not escape after the incident, was detained at the funeral of the deceased woman.
He Stabbed His Ex-Wife in the Throat
The incident took place around 20:00 on Akdeniz Boulevard in Yeşilbayır District, Döşemealtı district of Antalya. Abdülkadir K. (48), as a result of the escalation of the argument he had with his estranged wife Ayten Çağıran (44), took out the knife he was carrying and stabbed his ex-wife in the throat. Upon citizens’ notice, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
He did not let anyone near the corpse
While it was determined that Ayten Çağıran had lost her life, eyewitnesses stated that the murder suspect waited for her ex-wife for minutes after the incident to check whether she was alive and did not let anyone near her. While Abdülkadir K. was detained by the police teams, Ayten Çağıran’s lifeless body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the Crime Scene Investigation teams and the prosecutor’s office.
