Some prominent business leaders have expressed uncertainty regarding their perceptions of Vice President Kamala Harris. In an effort to address this, she has undertaken several initiatives to engage with corporate executives.

Reports indicate that Vice President Harris has been hosting meetings with groups of corporate executives at her residence in Washington approximately every two months. During a state dinner for President William Ruto of Kenya in May, she engaged in discussions with business representatives on economic matters such as labor access and worker training.

Furthermore, Vice President Harris participated in an event organized by Charles Phillips, a respected business executive and supporter, at the Colette Club in Midtown Manhattan. At this gathering, which included around 30 Black business leaders, she delivered a spontaneous speech on economic issues like job creation, inflation, and global trade, followed by a Q&A session.

Despite declaring herself as a capitalist while pursuing the presidential nomination in 2020, Vice President Harris remains somewhat of a puzzle in the business sphere. She has frequented fundraising trips to financial hubs like New York for several years, with her visits intensifying before her 2016 Senate campaign in California. However, her presence in such circles has reportedly lessened since then, according to financial figures who have interacted with her.
