Let’s stress that everyone in Gaza is at risk of injury and illness. He noted that children in shelters cry all night long, while women only bathe once every four months on average. He also said that suicidal tendencies are increasing among parents who cannot protect their children from hunger and trauma.

Hadi expressed that civil society in Gaza urgently needs protection, and stressed that humanitarian aid personnel and operations must be protected from brutal attacks. He also noted that despite the crisis in Gaza continuing for 10 months, an environment that would allow for the safe distribution of humanitarian aid has not yet been created.

Noting that UNRWA is under a great burden, Hadi said that attacks and campaigns against this institution are unacceptable and endanger humanitarian aid operations. Stating that the UN is having difficulty providing the necessary aid to the people of Gaza, Hadi reminds the parties of their obligation to protect humanitarian aid workers.

Hadi stated that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is at a level that will disturb everyone for generations. Stating that humanitarian workers are willing but are not given the necessary authority, Hadi said, “The risks in Gaza are unacceptable. We know what needs to be done, but there is a gap between what we can do and what we need to do. “
