Located in the historical Sille Neighborhood, Sille Time Museum sheds light on Konya’s deep-rooted history and takes its visitors on an unforgettable journey through time. Filled with a rich heritage of time from the Roman period to the present day, the museum was restored by the Selçuklu Municipality and opened to visitors in 2012.
The museum is located in the Sille Chapel and displays various time-measuring instruments from the Ottoman and Republican periods. Among these works that bring time and the past to the present are specially designed clocks, ruznames, calendars and sundials. In addition, gold and silver pocket watches and archaeological sundial examples from the Roman period are among the museum’s notable pieces. The museum also displays a 170-year-old clock and a 200-year-old calendar.
Sille Time Museum was awarded the “Continuity Award” in the competition organized by the Historical Cities Union. The museum is open to visitors 6 days a week except Mondays and welcomes visitors between 10:00 and 18:00.
