World Population Day Report from Turkish Statistical Institute

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has published a report containing important data for 2023, specifically for World Population Day, celebrated every year on July 11. On this special day designated by the United Nations, an effort is made to raise awareness by drawing attention to population and development issues.

  • Republic of Korea:The country with the lowest child population rate is the Republic of Korea, at 13.9 percent.

Turkey’s child population rate is below the world average and above the average of EU countries.

Young Population Rate and Countries

  • Syria:The country with the highest proportion of young people is Syria, with 24.1 percent.
  • Ukraine:The country with the lowest proportion of young people is Ukraine, with 6.8 percent.

Turkey’s young population rate is just below the world average and above the average of EU countries.

Elderly Population Rate and Countries

  • Monaco:The country with the highest proportion of elderly population is Monaco with 35.8 percent.
  • Train:The country with the lowest proportion of elderly population is Qatar, at 1.6 percent.

Turkey’s elderly population rate is just above the world average and below the average of EU countries.
