Awareness Event for Palestine from TÜGVA

A group of students studying at a painting course organized by the Turkish Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), accompanied by their teachers, organized a meaningful open-air painting event to draw attention to the genocide committed by Israel against Palestine.

The event was held in Triangle Park, where students made paintings featuring Palestinian children, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and both the Palestinian and Turkish flags.

Visual Arts Teacher Halit Aksu told Anadolu Agency reporters that they organized such an event to draw attention to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Aksu said, “Our aim is to ensure that the ongoing genocide remains on the agenda of society. The reason we are organizing an open-air event is to ensure that people passing by look at the pictures we have drawn and that the genocide in Palestine and the brutality experienced in Gaza are not forgotten. “In line with this, we planned such a drawing event with children.”

One of the students, Fatma Zehra Fıratlı, stated that they made the painting to draw attention to the tragedies taking place in Palestine and said, “Let everyone who passes by see what is happening in Gaza. I drew the flag of Turkey and Palestine. Turkey and Palestine are brothers and will always be by Palestine’s side.”

Another student, Hasan Hüseyin Tüysüz, emphasized that the aim of the event was for everyone to remember Palestine and not to forget it.

Pelin Arslandal, one of the citizens who attended the event, demanded an end to the massacre and expressed her feelings by saying, “We are waiting for Palestine to gain its freedom.”
