Former President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social account that he has agreed to participate in a live debate with potential opponent Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4. The debate will reportedly be hosted by Fox News at a stadium in Pennsylvania. Trump announced that the moderators will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and that the rules will be the same as the debate between himself and incumbent President Joe Biden.
Trump stressed that the debate will be held in front of “a field full of people.” “You know, the Democrats unofficially replaced a candidate who had conceded defeat. That’s never been done before, and I see it as a threat to democracy. But I’m prepared to face the consequences of this ‘coup.’ “I’m also prepared to replace Joe with ‘crazy Kamala’ in the debate,” he said.
Trump stated that he spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time and effort in his “struggle” with Biden. “Now they’ve thrown a new candidate into the field. It’s not fair, but the situation is clear. No matter who the candidate is, their bad policies are the same and that will be obvious on September 4th. I look forward to facing “Kamala Harris on September 4th,” he said. On the other hand, Kamala Harris has reportedly not yet responded to Fox News’ debate offer.
Harris’ Candidacy Finalized
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris has secured her place as the Democratic candidate in the election. Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison announced that Harris has reached the required number of delegates to become the party’s presidential candidate. The Democratic Party’s presidential candidate will be officially determined at the party convention to be held in Chicago from August 19-22.
