Traffic Accident Inside the Tunnel in Dernekpazarı!
One person died and four people were injured in the traffic accident that occurred in Dernekpazarı district of Trabzon. As a result of incorrect overtaking, which caused the accident, two vehicles collided head-on in the tunnel.
The vehicle driven by Ünal Mermer (52), which was traveling from the direction of Of to Çaykara, collided with the vehicle driven by HK, a Palestinian national, coming from the opposite direction. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle, Ünal Mermer (52), died at the scene of the accident. While HY (45), who was in the same vehicle, was seriously injured and taken to Kanuni Training and Research Hospital, the tourists and drivers in the other vehicle, HK, NMH and MA, were treated in various hospitals in Trabzon.
While long vehicle queues formed on the tourism center Uzungöl road as a result of the accident, the authorities announced that an investigation into the accident had been launched and warned drivers to pay attention to traffic direction signs.
