In a traffic accident that occurred at night in Burdur, 2 people were injured in a car that failed to turn from the intersection and crashed into the barriers. In the incident, the vehicle narrowly avoided falling into a frightening 70-meter cliff.
The accident took place at around 01.30 at the Burdur-Antalya Highway Büğdüz junction. Allegedly, a vehicle descending from Büğdüz village road lost control of the steering wheel while trying to turn towards Burdur, hit the barriers and remained suspended in the air. Upon the immediate notice of the incident, fire brigade, health and police teams were dispatched to the area.
Rescue teams arriving at the scene barely rescued driver Osman K. and passenger Ebru K., who were trapped in the vehicle. After the first intervention of the medical teams, the injured were transferred to Burdur State Hospital by ambulance and received treatment.
The car got stuck in the barrier and was saved from falling into the cliff at the last moment, which saved the car from the brink of disaster. It was also reminding that unfortunately some people lost their lives in similar accidents that occurred in this region before.
