The Milk Lamb Project Reaches Children in Izmir
Milk distribution has begun within the scope of the Milk Lamb Project, which aims to raise healthy generations by instilling the habit of drinking milk in children by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The project is being delivered to 105 thousand children in 30 districts by 58 teams, setting an example for Turkey.
Milk distribution started as a result of the contract made between Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Tire Milk Cooperative. Aiming to reach 105 thousand children between the ages of 1-5, the teams deliver packages containing 8 liters of milk to families.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay,He said the following regarding the subject: “We started the Milk Lamb Project in order to contribute to the healthy development of our children, who are our future, to support our producers and to support the budgets of families. We will continue to be with our children and families with our social municipality approach.”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Services Branch Manager Hulya Abay He stated that as a result of the investigations carried out in 30 districts, they started to deliver milk to 105 thousand children. Abay said, “We continue to support the producers and teach children the habit of drinking milk. We will continue to stand by our citizens and children together with our president.”
One of the families to whom milk was distributed within the scope of the project Star Beauty,“My eldest son is 7 years old. He grew up with the Milk Lamb Project, and now my younger son is benefiting from the project. We are very pleased. Thank you for everything. I congratulate our new president and wish him success in his duty,” he said.
Ebru DinçHe stated that he was pleased with the project and said, “I have been benefiting from the project for nearly 10 years. I bought milk for all 3 of my children. I am now buying it for one of them as they have grown up. I would like to thank Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.”
