Second Phase of the Cyprus Peace Operation
The Ministry of National Defense shared an important post on its social media accounts regarding the second phase of the Cyprus Peace Operation. This post emphasized the Happy Peace Operation launched by the Turkish Armed Forces on July 20, 1974 to end the oppression suffered by the Turkish Cypriots and their heroism during this period.
The post also drew attention to the fight against the Greek terrorist organization EOKA. It was stated that the Turkish Armed Forces decided to take action again with the slogan “Ayşe should go on vacation” after the uncompromising attitudes of the Greek and Greek sides continued in the Geneva Conferences held on July 25 and August 13.
It was stated that the second Peace Operation was launched with the activation of Victory Operation Plan No. 4 on 14 August 1974. This operation was a critical step towards establishing peace in Cyprus.
