The Cuban government decided to intervene in the case filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in order to end the genocide committed against the Palestinian people. In the statement made by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that Cuba will exercise its right to make a statement regarding the interpretation of the convention based on the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide.

The statement said, “Israel violates its obligations under the 4th Geneva Convention by collaborating with the US government and continues inhumane practices such as genocide, apartheid and forced displacement. This situation is an unacceptable human rights violation in today’s world.”
