Taiwan’s military conducted a high-profile heavy weapons drill off the coast of Taichung, Taiwan, in western Taiwan, to strengthen military readiness and test the effectiveness of weapons systems amid rising tensions between the United States and China over Taiwan.
During the exercise, soldiers effectively deployed artillery equipped with live ammunition, M110 American self-propelled howitzers and various other military equipment. Such training is of great importance to increase the army’s combat readiness and create a more effective defense mechanism against possible threats.
