TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş made statements regarding the speech made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the US Congress. Kurtulmuş stated that they followed Netanyahu’s speech with great astonishment and horror, and said, “We regret that Netanyahu, who is responsible for the humanitarian crisis and genocide in Gaza, was given this platform in the US Congress. Netanyahu’s anti-peace rhetoric and racist “policies are the biggest obstacle to lasting peace in the region.”
Kurtulmuş emphasized that it was unacceptable for Netanyahu, who disregards international law for the sake of his personal interests, to be hosted in the US Congress as a respected statesman, and said, “Netanyahu’s efforts to cover up the massacre in Gaza will be in vain “We appreciate the members of the US Congress who stand on the side of justice and peace.”
“Justice will be served sooner or later,” said Kurtulmuş, touching on the importance of reactions that emerged in the name of humanity, and stated that fundamental values such as democracy, law and justice should always be at the forefront.
