Special Stands in Solidarity with Earthquake Victims in Renaissance Container City
As part of his visit to Malatya, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Rönesans Container City, where citizens whose houses were destroyed and severely damaged after the February 6 earthquakes settled. Here he met with earthquake victims, listened to their problems and took notes on their demands. Besides Özel, Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba, Provincial Chairman Barış Yıldız and deputy chairmen were also present.

Screams of Earthquake Victims and Their Problems Waiting for Solution
- Families Waiting for a Home: An earthquake victim expressed his problems by stating that a house was selected in the draw, but they could not get a key for 3 months. The family complained about the narrowness of the container city and stated that they were waiting to get their home.
- Wounded and Despair: An earthquake survivor who remained under the rubble for 10 hours stated that his professional life ended after his injury. Desperate, injured citizens shared their concerns about their future.
- Tenants’ Struggle for Rights: The grievances experienced by tenants living in the container city were expressed. Tenants who cannot benefit from housing such as TOKİ because they are not homeowners stated that they are fighting for their rights and waiting for a solution.
- Young Earthquake Victim Wanting a Job:The young earthquake survivor, who lost his foot by being stuck under the rubble for 12 hours, stated that he only wanted a job and emphasized that he aimed to be able to bring money home at the end of the month.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel took into account the difficulties experienced by the earthquake victims and took notes to be forwarded to the necessary authorities. Özel stated that solution-oriented work will continue by listening to the demands of citizens.
