Sinop Power Union Association President Erdoğan Altay gave information about the social aid activities they carry out as an association. Altay stated that they distributed 300 kilograms of meat during last year’s Eid al-Adha, but this year 500 kilograms of meat was insufficient due to the increase in need. He stated that they have not yet been able to provide aid to 20 families before the Eid, but they aim to meet the needs of these families if the support continues.
Altay said, “Considering the economic situation of our country, we observe increasing victimization in the society in general. There is a similar picture in Sinop. However, we are grateful to the people of Sinop who support us. With this support, we continue our work more effectively and quickly. As Sinop Power Union Association, we are present in every field and continue to extend a helping hand to those in need.”
Support for Needs of Burnt Houses
Stating that, as an association, they extend a helping hand to those in need not only in Sinop center but also in the districts, Altay stated that support efforts continue for the burned houses in Durağan and Erfelek districts. Altay said, “We created lists of needs and contacted our citizens in order to alleviate the grievances in the burned houses. We are ready to help these families using the resources we have. Our belongings and clothes are ready, we are waiting to support those in need.”
