LAST MINUTE: Romania, a NATO member state, has begun shooting down Russian drones over Ukrainian airspace. A video emerged showing Romanian Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns successfully shooting down Russian drones along the river separating Romania from Ukraine near Izmail. Romania was forced to take action after at least one suicide drone crashed 11km deep into its territory and other drones were heading towards it.
While tensions between Russia and Romania have been on the rise recently, many war analysts see Romania’s move as an attempt to protect its own country.
