The İYİ Party, which suffered a major defeat in the March 31 local elections, was shaken by the latest election. Istanbul MP Ersagun Yücel announced his resignation from the party via social media. With this resignation, the İYİ Party reduced its number of seats in the Parliament to 33.

Ersagun Yücel, who resigned from the İYİ Party, made the following statement: “I would like to announce that I have resigned from the İYİ Party, which I joined and worked for upon the invitation of our founding leader, Ms. Meral Akşener. I “Actively supported the İYİ Party with my family during its difficult times. However, I have now decided to continue on the path of service in other channels. I would like to thank Akşener and Chairman Dervişoğlu for giving me the chance to engage in politics.”
Third MP Resignation in the Last Month
Following Ersagun Yücel’s resignation, the İYİ Party is facing its third deputy resignation in the last month. Ankara Deputy Koray Aydın and Istanbul Deputy Seyithan İzsiz also resigned from the party.
