In the village of Kömür in the Kemah district of Erzincan, workers who produce registered salt continue their work with great devotion in hot weather conditions. Coal village is an important center where the salt water coming from the Kemah mountains is processed and offered to the consumer.

In the production facility, salt water is subjected to certain processes in special pools and after the heavy metal minerals are removed, it is evaporated by the effect of hot air and collected in crystallized pools. As a result of this process, natural and pure salt is obtained and packaged to be offered to the consumer.

In order to extend the production season, which normally lasts 3 months, specially constructed “glass roof” covered collection pools are used within the facility. In this way, harvesting operations can continue uninterrupted for 10 months.
