Razmyar Criticizes Finland’s Gaza Policy
According to the Helsinki Times, Finnish MEP Razmyar harshly criticized his country’s policies on Gaza. “It is sheer hypocrisy for the Finnish government to trade arms with a state that commits genocide,” Razmyar said.
Razmyar called on the government to impose “trade sanctions” against Israel, saying, “The government can no longer hide behind the pretext of monitoring the situation.” In this context, he stressed that it was not right for Finland to suspend its financial support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Razmyar said Finland only made a “vague wish” for the attacks to stop, adding, “(Finland) did not take any concrete steps to ensure peace or hold the parties accountable.”
