Families gathered on Menekşe Street and walked to the DEM Party provincial building with Turkish flags and photos of their children. Families chanted slogans during the march, where police took heavy security measures. Yusuf Erdinç, who joined the protest, stated that his son Mikail was taken to the mountains in 2015 while studying at Marmara University Faculty of Law and that he is currently in Syria, and said, “I have not let go of him since then, and I will not let go. I am also participating in the protest in Diyarbakır. I will continue this struggle for my last day.”
While families expressed their reactions by chanting slogans against the music that was turned on in front of the DEM Party provincial building, the police took precautions in front of the building. Yusuf Erdinç said, “Because I lost my lung. The children of DEM Party deputies are studying 7 languages in Europe. My child is also in the mountains. They broke the pen in his hand and gave him a gun instead. I am calling out here; you are an educated man. There are no children there. I am waiting for you here. “
Nazlı Sancar, who joined the protest for her daughter Şerima, stated that she has been participating in the protest for 6 years and said, “We are fighting for our children here. These families are protesting for their children, regardless of summer or winter, Rain or mud. We will not leave this door until the day we reunite with our children. and surrender to our state forces. Up until now, 55 of our children have come and made their families happy. This struggle is for all of our children. .”
