President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of the Chinese BYD company, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, and his accompanying delegation at the Dolmabahçe Work Office. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır also attended the meeting.
Investment Agreement Signed Between BYD and Türkiye
Following the meeting between the delegations, an agreement was signed between BYD and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, which foresees investment in Turkey. Within the scope of the agreement, the Chinese company BYD is planned to establish a production facility with an annual capacity of 150 thousand vehicles and a mobility R&D center with an investment of approximately 1 billion dollars. The facility, which is expected to start production by the end of 2026, is planned to provide direct employment for 5 thousand people.
