During a virtual meeting with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, President Biden addressed a Democratic lawmaker’s suggestion that he should not continue his bid for another term. Representative Mike Levin of California expressed his belief that the president should step aside, becoming the 19th member of Congress to do so in the wake of Mr. Biden’s recent debate performance. Mr. Levin shared his thoughts directly with the president during the meeting, prompting an interesting exchange.

In response to Mr. Levin’s concerns, President Biden emphasized his willingness to engage with voters and address any doubts they may have about his ability to serve in the Oval Office or compete against former President Donald J. Trump in November. He encouraged people to approach him, ask questions, and even physically interact with him, stating, “I think I know what I’m doing… no president in three years has done what we have in three years other than Franklin Roosevelt.”
