Despite his lackluster debate performance, Mr. Biden has firmly stated that he will not withdraw unless intervened by “the Lord Almighty.” Demonstrating his commitment, he issued an open letter to congressional Democrats reaffirming his candidacy and made bold appearances in the media.
During a private video call with his campaign’s top donors, Mr. Biden emphasized, “I am not going anywhere,” in a bid to shore up support amid growing pressure. He also engaged in a virtual meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus, underlining his determination to stay in the race.
The Biden campaign aimed to portray the push for his exit as orchestrated by the party elite rather than reflecting genuine concerns of grassroots voters about his age and sharpness.
