The Painful Story of a Palestinian Father
Palestinian father Muhammed Abu al-Qumsan, who left his house to get the birth certificate of his twin babies Aysel and Aser, who were born on August 10, experienced one of the most difficult moments of his life. While he was at the Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital to get the birth certificate, he unfortunately came across the bodies of his relatives, including his children, wife and mother-in-law. This tragic event left a deep mark on Muhammed’s life and increased the pain he experienced.
This situation that Muhammed experienced shows how devastating war and conflict can be. His longing for Aysel and Aser deepened with the pain of what he had lost. Their birth was a glimmer of hope; However, this hope was short-lived due to the destruction brought by war.
This incident is not only the story of one family, but also symbolizes the pain of many families affected by war. The losses people experience do not only cause physical but also deep wounds on a spiritual level.
