Katz: Palestinian Factions Move Closer to National Unity Agreement in China
Katz announced on the X social media platform that Palestinian groups that came together in China are approaching a “national unity agreement.” Hamas and Fatah signed an agreement in China for “joint control of Gaza” after the Israeli attacks, but according to Katz, this agreement will not be realized in practice. Katz claimed that Hamas will be crushed and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will watch Gaza from afar.
Palestinian factions had announced that all forces under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) were “nearing” an agreement to achieve “comprehensive national unity” and form an interim compromise government. Fourteen factions, including Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, attended the meetings in Beijing.
