Many important names attended the opening ceremony of the honey processing facility, which was built with the support of TIKA and equipped with modern facilities. The ceremony was attended by TIKA President Serkan Kayalar, Turkish Ambassador to Sarajevo Sadik Babur Girgin, Prime Minister of the Central Bosnia Canton Tahir Lendo, TIKA Bosnia and Herzegovina Coordinator Erdinc Isikalong with beekeepers and local authorities participated.
The facility, which was opened, has a daily capacity of approximately 2.5 tonsIt is designed to process honey and when it operates at full capacity, it is expected to produce approximately 100% of the annual honey production of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 40 percentcan work here.
TIKA President Serkan Kayalar, meaningful in his speech at the opening, emphasized that there is a story behind the facility opened in Kacuni. Kayalar stated that this project, which started with beehives in 2009, has turned into a modern facility over time, and that the development process of the facility 15 years oldHe stated that this is the result of hard work. Kayalar made the following statements in his speech:
- “With the establishment of the Kacuni Beekeepers Association in 2009, a total of 35 families 700 hives“With the granting of our beekeeping project, we have started.”
- “Afterwards, we provided training and equipment support in order to increase the number of employees here and generate income.”
- “This association provided bees for the Bosnians who returned to Eastern Bosnia in 2018 and purchased the land for the facility we are opening today with the income obtained.”
The Prime Minister of the Central Bosnia Canton, Tahir Lendo, expressed his happiness at being present at the opening of this magnificent facility and stated that the honey will be processed and distributed to the entire country. Lendo emphasized the importance of the support provided by TIKA in the region by saying, “Thanks to our friends from Turkey, we will have a well-known product.” In addition, TICAHe stated that the aid provided through the Bosnia and Herzegovina Project and the opening of the facilities are of great value for Turkey-Bosnia Herzegovina relations.
Sadık Babür Girgin, Turkey’s Ambassador to Sarajevo, stated that TIKA symbolizes Turkey’s hand of friendship and said, “TIKA has been the first country to do so in Bosnia and Herzegovina to do so.” More than 1100 projectsHe drew attention to TIKA’s contributions by saying, “I hope the blessings of this project will spread throughout the country.”
