The New York Yankees have been in need of reinforcements, and they took a step towards strengthening their roster by making a trade with the Miami Marlins to acquire second baseman and center fielder, Jazz Chisholm Jr.
In the reported deal, the Yankees are sending Triple-A catcher Agustin Ramirez, High-A infielder Jared Serna, and rookie ball infielder/outfielder Abrahan Ramirez to Miami in exchange for Chisholm Jr.
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone commented on the acquisition, praising Chisholm Jr.’s talent and versatility. He highlighted Chisholm Jr.’s athleticism, speed, power, and ability to play multiple positions on the field.
Agustin Ramirez, 22, is known for his impressive power at the plate but has faced questions about his defensive skills. He posted solid numbers at Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, showcasing his potential as a promising young player.
Jazz Chisholm Jr., 26, was a notable target for the Yankees, ranking high on trade deadline big boards for his performance with the Marlins. With a batting average of .249, 13 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .730 OPS, Chisholm Jr. brings a valuable offensive contribution to the team.
