The National Football Team defeated the Czech Republic 2-1 in the third match of Group F of the European Football Championship (EURO 2024) and came second in the group. After the match, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a phone conversation with the national football players and Coach Vincenzo Montella.

Erdoğan gave a special congratulations to Barış Alper Yılmaz, who showed a successful performance in the Czech Republic match. Appreciating Yılmaz’s performance, Erdoğan said, “Mashallah Barış, I really congratulate you. You paralyzed the right side, I congratulate you.”
Criticism of the Referee’s Decision
Erdoğan stated that the referee was unfair in the goal scored by the Czech Republic and said, “The referee was very unfair in the goal we conceded.”
