The accident occurred at the entrance to the Zincirlikuyu metrobus stop on Barbaros Boulevard in Istanbul. The accident, which took place at around 14:00, resulted in a major disaster being avoided when motorcycle driver Emrah Akman and pillion rider Mehmet Şanverdi experienced the accident.
Details of the incident
- Mehmet Şanverdi, who was a pillion rider on the motorcycle ridden by Emrah Akman, had an epileptic seizure while travelling from Levent towards Beşiktaş.
- It was determined that Şanverdi narrowly escaped being run over by an IETT bus after falling off his motorcycle following a seizure.
- Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene and the injured Şanverdi was taken by ambulance to Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital and treatment.
- Following the incident, the IETT driver was taken to the police station to give a statement.

- IETT Driver Who Did Not Want to Be Named:“I noticed that he fell from the left side of the motorcycle. When he stopped, I saw that he was not under it. Şanverdi was fine. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, he did not get under my car.”
