A woman used people’s interest in children to sell water at a busy intersection with her son, who brought with her in a stroller and a bucket full of water. The child approached the vehicles stopped at red lights and started selling water to the drivers.
While some drivers were buying water, some were not buying it just by giving money. Some even weren’t buying water just by giving money to the boy. The boy tried to sell water to the passengers who got off the bus and to those who were passing by the pedestrian crossing using the same method.
He Delivered Money to His Mother
The boy would bring the money he had collected to his mother and give it to her. The woman would put the money in her pocket, give her last new water bottles and send him back to the drivers.
When other children came with the mother and son who earned money this way, they were noticed by the Children’s Department teams patrolling the area and taken to the police station. The Syrian woman’s statement was taken, she was given an administrative fine and released.
