According to information obtained from security sources, the so-called intelligence structure of the terrorist organization PKK was revealed as a result of intensive work carried out by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) of the Republic of Turkey. The identities of Sadık Topaloğlu, codenamed “Halil” and Mehmet Savaş, who were determined to be operating in the organization’s intelligence structure, were determined.
As a result of the surveillance conducted by MIT, Topaloğlu and Savaş, who were determined to be operating in Istanbul, were caught in a joint operation. It was determined that Topaloğlu had illegally crossed into Iraq/Kandil and received intelligence training from the organization, and that he had meetings with Cemil Bayık, codenamed “Cuma”, one of the organization’s leaders, during the training period.
Upon his return to Turkey, MİT determined that Sadık Topaloğlu spied for the terrorist organization under the guise of “journalism,” engaged in financial activities together with Mehmet Savaş, and provided support to members of the organization in Syria through front companies.
PKK members Sadık Topaloğlu and Mehmet Savaş, who were captured as a result of a joint operation by MİT and Istanbul Police, were arrested for being members of a terrorist organization and sent to prison.
