In a statement made on the Foreign Ministry’s account on the social media platform X, it was stated, “The killing of people taking refuge in schools in Gaza is unacceptable. Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), announced that two-thirds of schools in Gaza have been targeted since the Israeli attacks began on October 7, 2023. There were 183 schools belonging to UNRWA in Gaza.

It was announced that at least 50 people were killed in the attacks carried out by Israel on 4 schools. More than 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza, where approximately 2.3 million people live, due to the attacks carried out by Israel since October 7. The majority of these Palestinians have been displaced many times due to Israel’s forced migration. Some Palestinians are taking shelter in nearby schools in order not to leave their areas.

The Israeli army, which has been carrying out massacres in Gaza since October 7, also frequently hit schools and camps where displaced Palestinians take shelter.
