Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that according to the data in the EUROCONTROL European Aviation Outlook Report, Turkey’s air traffic is at an important point. Minister Uraloğlu announced that an average of 3,959 flights took place daily at our country’s airports between July 15-21.

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that Istanbul Airport is the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1,485 flights per day, leaving Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam airports behind. He also added that Istanbul Airport is ranked 7th worldwide.

Minister Uraloğlu, who drew attention to the fact that Antalya Airport is the 8th busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1,036 flights per day, also touched on the efficiency of Turkish airspace. According to EUROCONTROL data, Turkish airspace is one of the most efficient airspaces in Europe with a delay of less than 0.5 minutes per flight.
