Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a total of 21 million 67 thousand 377 vehicles passed on highways throughout Turkey during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Number of Vehicles Passing through Highways and Bridges
According to the information provided by Minister Uraloğlu, a total of 21 million 67 thousand 377 vehicles passed through the highways and bridges operated by the General Directorate of Highways between 14-21 June. Among the highways providing free service, 2 million 52 thousand 782 vehicles passed through the Mahmutbey-Edirne Highway, while 4 million 133 thousand 874 vehicles used the Istanbul-Ankara Highway.
Among other highway crossings, 1 million 200 thousand 182 vehicles passed on Adana Highway, 1 million 104 thousand 841 vehicles passed on Mersin Highway and 1 million 587 thousand 79 vehicles passed on Çeşme-İzmir-Aydın Highway. Among the bridges, 779 thousand 809 vehicles used the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, and a total of 975 thousand 60 vehicles used the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
Number of Vehicles Passing through Public-Private Partnership Projects
It was stated that 7 million 654 thousand 309 vehicles passed through the projects implemented with Public-Private Partnership. Minister Uraloğlu stated that 3 million 328 thousand 127 vehicles passed on the Northern Marmara Highway, 258 thousand 970 on the Malkara Çanakkale Highway, 3 million 128 thousand 398 on the Istanbul-İzmir Highway, and 737 thousand 128 on the Ankara-Niğde Highway.
