Official Visit to Pakistan
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, together with Albayrak Group Chairman Ahmet Albayrak, is paying an official visit to Pakistan with a delegation consisting of the heads of leading umbrella organizations of the Turkish business world. This important visit is organized with the aim of strengthening trade relations and increasing cooperation between the two countries.
In the first phase of his visit, Minister Bolat visited the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. In his statement here, he said, “We visited our Embassy in Islamabad during our visit to Pakistan. I wish success to our Ambassador Mr. Mehmet Paçacı and the Embassy staff in their efforts to strengthen our relations with friendly and brotherly Pakistan in every field.”He gave his statements.
According to the information provided by the ministry, the aim of Bolat’s visit to Pakistan is to further deepen economic and commercial relations between the two countries. In this context, various business forums and meetings are planned to be held.
- Minister Bolat will meet with his counterpart Jam Kamal Khan in Karachi on August 9, on the last day of his visit to Pakistan.
- Following this meeting, Bolat will inaugurate the “Karachi 2nd International Food and Agriculture Fair” (FOODAG’24) with the participation of Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif, and will also visit the fairground and examine the stands of Turkish companies.
Trade Volume and Collaborations
Relations between Turkey and Pakistan have been developing and deepening in many areas such as defense industry, contracting, energy and agriculture in recent years. The trade volume between the two countries has exceeded 1 billion dollars in the last three years. In the 7-month period of this year, there has been a 45% increase compared to the same period last year.
In addition, Turkish contracting companies have successfully completed a total of approximately $3.3 billion worth of projects in Pakistan to date. The total Turkish investments in the country have exceeded $2 billion.
