Continuing his work in the Black Sea Region due to the yellow and orange rain warnings of the General Directorate of Meteorology and the floods in the region, Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) President Okay Memiş visited the AFAD Rize Provincial Directorate after the Rize Governorship.
At the meeting attended by relevant institution directors and officials at the AFAD Provincial Directorate, ongoing risk reduction efforts in Rize, the Rize Search and Rescue Unit Directorate that has become operational, and precautions taken against possible floods and landslides were discussed.
AFAD President Okay Memiş also examined the area where landslides have been occurring continuously late on the slope of the area where AFAD and 112 Emergency Call Center are located in Rize. AFAD President Memiş was accompanied during his examinations by Deputy Governor Murat Öztürk, Rize AFAD Director Mehmet Salih Avcı, Rize AFAD Search and Rescue Unit Deputy Director Önder Taş and other relevant persons.
