With the arrival of the summer months, Melikgazi Municipality has started intensive pesticide spraying activities in all neighborhoods of the district. Extensive work is being carried out using state-of-the-art devices and pesticides that do not harm human health.
Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said in a statement, “We continue our pesticide activities in 58 neighborhoods to combat mosquitoes, houseflies and other pests. The pesticides usually start at sunset and continue until late at night. They are carried out quietly so that our citizens are not disturbed .”
President Palancıoğlu also emphasized that there is a specific method for spraying, saying, “It should not be forgotten that spraying can be very harmful to human health. It is important to adjust the dosage. I would also like to point out that garbage accumulated in open areas causes the reproduction of mosquitoes and other insects.”
Emphasizing that Melikgazi Municipality should comply with garbage collection hours, the Mayor said, “We kindly request that garbage be thrown into garbage containers and not left out in the open.
