Important Meeting Between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Biden
In an official statement from the Jordanian Royal Office, it was reported that US President Joe Biden had a phone conversation with King Abdullah II. During this conversation, King Abdullah emphasized the need to reach a comprehensive calm in order to reduce tension in the region and prevent a possible regional war.
King Abdullah II said that a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the ongoing humanitarian disaster is the first step to protect the security of the region and prevent further conflict. He also noted that actions that increase tensions and violate international law must be stopped.
King Abdullah noted that Israel’s attacks and unilateral actions against Palestinian territories could further fuel violence in the region. In this context, he stressed the importance of the US role in ending the war in Gaza and achieving a permanent ceasefire.
Biden, for his part, thanked King Abdullah II for his efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
