Meaningful March from the Free Aksa Trabzon Platform

Özgür Aksa Trabzon Platformu'ndan Anlamlı Yürüyüş

The Free Aksa Trabzon Platform continues its marches organized every Wednesday after the afternoon prayer. This meaningful event, which started in front of the İskenderpaşa Mosque in the Ortahisar district, continued to the Ziraat Bank on Kahramanmaraş Street, with participants holding Turkish and Palestinian flags.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Köksal Hamzaoğlu said that the events that broke out in Gaza on October 7 were only one aspect of a genocide that has been going on for years. Gaza is the cry of a people who have tried to be destroyed step by step, not just for weeks but for years.” said Hamzaoğlu and continued as follows:

  • “While the world watches the massacre in Gaza, human dignity is being trampled once again.”
  • “While a Zionist murderous mentality systematically seeks to destroy the Palestinian people, this process will be engraved as a black mark in human history.”

Hamzaoğlu also drew attention to the importance of these marches, saying, “When we think that we have not been able to do anything for 47 weeks, these meetings are actually It is to give us a spirit beyond remembering Gaza.” he said. Emphasizing that the enemy is everywhere, Hamzaoğlu said, ” The enemy is the enemy everywhere“And these Zionist murderers want to destroy not only the innocents in Gaza, but also us in the same way,” he said.

Hamzaoğlu stated that the West’s discourse on democracy, human rights and freedom has been rendered ineffective by its silence on this genocide, and that this silence is almost an approval. To turn a blind eye to this cruelty is to be complicit in the crime.“But we will not remain silent. We refuse to remain silent to this pain. We do not turn a dead ear to the cry of Gaza,” he continued.

Emphasizing that Gaza is not just a geography, Hamzaoğlu said, “This place is a symbol of the struggle for honor, resistance and standing against the oppressor. This symbol is an important warning for all of humanity.” He also stated that those who do not stand against oppression are accomplices to oppression and used the following expressions:

  • “We are shouting that we stand with Gaza and support their honorable struggle.”
  • “Raising our voice against oppression and stopping those who are complicit in this oppression through boycotts is a requirement of human dignity.”
