Landslide Incident Closing the Road in Hopa
In the incident that took place at noon today in Artvin’s Hopa district, rocks breaking off from the slope hit a moving vehicle. While the occupants of the vehicle were fortunately uninjured, the highway was closed to traffic as a result of the incident.
According to the information obtained, the section of the Black Sea Coastal Road between Hopa and Kemalpaşa was closed to transportation due to a landslide. Large pieces of rock that broke off from the slope hit a vehicle traveling on the Black Sea Coastal Road. Luckily, those in the vehicle managed to escape the accident uninjured.
With the closure of the Kemalpaşa-Hopa highway, teams started working in the region. Since the Black Sea Coastal Road is an important route frequently used by local people and holidaymakers, intense efforts are being made to restore traffic flow. Authorities continue to work intensively with work machines and equipment to open the road to traffic as soon as possible.
