Following a landslide victory in the UK general election last Thursday, the leader of the Labour Party and new Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has announced his first decision. Starmer has cancelled the plan to send illegal refugees to Rwanda.
Speaking to the Telegraph newspaper, Labour Party officials said, “The Rwanda plan is dead.” Party spokespeople said the plan would not be implemented, in line with a previous promise. While no official statement has yet been made, it is stated that the decision to cancel the plan has not yet been made official.
