Kustepe Canal Project

The Kushtepe Canal Project, which began in August 2021, has become one of Afghanistan’s priority infrastructure projects as the country aims to revitalize the economy by attracting investors to its mines.

Project Details

The Kuştepe Canal Project began construction in 2022. The canal aims to support agriculture and livestock by carrying water from the Amuderya River. The canal, which has a total length of 285 kilometers, will be at least 80 meters wide at the base and 150 meters wide on the surface.

Second Phase Studies

With the completion of the project, whose second phase is still ongoing, 550-600 thousand hectares of land will be opened to agriculture. It is stated that the work is progressing rapidly.
