Kremlin’s Statement on the Visit of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
The Kremlin made statements regarding the official visit of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Russia. The statement included the following statements: “Mahmud Abbas is in Russia on an official visit. “The talks between Vladimir Putin and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are taking place at the Russian President’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.”
Regarding Abbas’ visit, the Palestinian President’s Office said, “President Mahmoud Abbas will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin today to ensure that Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people is stopped and urgent aid is delivered to the region affected by the humanitarian crisis caused by the war.”
“We are making every effort to support Palestine”
During the meeting, Vladimir Putin reiterated his stance on supporting Palestine, saying: “We are closely following the humanitarian disaster in Palestine with deep sorrow and concern. We are determined to make every effort to support the Palestinian people. As you know, we have currently sent about 700 tons of various products there. We intend to use every opportunity to help the Palestinian people. Our position on this issue has not changed in any way. This position, which we have adopted for a long time, reflects our understanding of acting without considering short-term interests. “We also believe that it is imperative to implement all United Nations (UN) resolutions, with the establishment of a full-fledged Palestinian state as a priority, in order to achieve a lasting and stable peace in the region.”
